Raspberry Licorice: Tantalizing to the Taste Buds
The first glimpse at raspberry licorice will tell you that this isn’t your grandma’s licorice that she savored as a child. Nope. The shocking blue hue and the incredible burst of berry flavor will leave you speechless, as well as hungry for more. Who would have ever thought blue food could taste so darn good?
After the awe has worn off from the brilliant color shock to the eyes, you will immediately want to open that bag in your hands to see if the flavor is as amazing as the color. Before you even get a bite of the chewy goodness into your mouth, you smell the mind blowing aroma of days gone by, of hot summery August days when you would go out back and pick the raspberries that grew wild in your backyard. Your fingers would be stained a deep, rich reddish-blue and you would end up eating more than was put in your bucket. It’s astonishing how that smell brings you right back to those days.
Getting over the flashback, you finally get to taste that raspberry flavor on your tongue. Yep, it is just as good as you remember it to be. Tangy, sweet, and addicting– just like when you were a kid. The next sensation that hits you is how chewy this confection is and how it has a great mouth-feel. It isn’t too tough that your jaw is exhausted by the time you’re ready to swallow, and it isn’t too waxy like some of the major licorice brands are. You have decided that there really is a difference between gourmet licorice and the massed produced knock-offs that are out there. You can’t help but thinking that if everyone could have a bite of the real thing, then nobody would go back and buy what they are selling at the local movie theaters or grocery stores.
