Thick Chipboard

Would a thick underlay help reduce noise from creaky floorboards?
I’ve recently moved into a council flat which has very very creaky chipboard floors. They refuse to do anything as it’ll cost them too much money. It is a floating floor which is glued together, no hope of screwing them down.
My question is, do you think that laying a thick 11mm underlay like ‘tredaire dreamwalk’ which has sound reduction would make a difference? I’m hoping so as it may be my only choice…
Thank you Norman, but the boards are glued together, there is no gap for any powder or liquid to fall into.
I plan on putting carpet on top of the underlay.
thanks big owl, but I can’t nail down, can’t use talc, lets assume I’ve tried all options for stopping the creaking… would the underlay help was the original question. thanks anyway guys guess I’ll have to just find out
You could staple hardboard down before underlay,would be better.
