What do people use porcupine quills for? I see many of them for sale on eBay, for example?
Do people used to put to others or as weapons or defense or something?
Native Americans used to decorate their clothing. First feathers are dyed a color that I wanted (using natural dyes), then sew them on clothing. It seems kind of embroidery, like when your on the cloth. For the feathers, instead of killing the porcupine, casting a blanket over him. This would result to release the barbs and when it pulled the blanket, the barb would need (the prongs stuck in the blanket).
