…way…
to avoid unexpected “accidents” with your little and curious children?
I’m talking about how to organize and keep stuffs like inks, beads, knitting needles, scissors, and other littles accessories in a safety condition.
I’ll be glad to know about storage tips too!
I know what you mean about the potential ‘ accidents’ with children and craft supplies. I’m still trying to hide my stuff and they’re becoming ever so better at hunting down the “good stuff” as they call it!
Early on, I stored my crafts in a closet…to my husbands dismay, but I needed a spot for me to put all my beads, paper, and craft supplies without them getting lost and placed in all sorts of spots in the house. When my creative juices flow, I need to have my stuff ready to GO and quick, because being a mom to two active kids doesn’t allow too much time to have fun with my crafts!
I used regular plastic bins to put all my supplies in. I love the free standing plastic drawer sets you can get! I just simply labeled them….BEADS, PAINT, CLAY so I could just pull that tub out and then just lay it all out at my kitchen table. I put a professional chefs metal shelving (got it at Sam’s club in the kitchen section) in that closet and it holds the weight of those bins very well.
Now that the kids are getting older, I’ve tried to organize their stuff in smaller bins, which has been pretty good.
I’m now into glass fusing and need to have a little space for that for safety, my office is now being turned into my little glass studio and I’ll keep that room locked away from the kiddies until they are a bit older. GLASS + KIDS = EMERGENCY ROOM!
